Ep23,Pt1: Pelicans Midseason Check-in with Wheeler Moorman & Aron Lambert

Joined by our resident Pelicans' super fans, Wheeler Moorman and Aron Lambert, we have to start by acknowledging the very disappointing season, initially pinning the team's issues on coach Alvin Gentry, as well as questioning some of the team's personnel moves.  We compare the management styles, and some shared dysfunction, between the Benson-owned Saints and Pelicans.

After touching on small ball, and the benching of Omer Asik, we wonder who our 3rd best player is after the big drop off from AD and Jrue Holiday.  We heap collective praise on Dante Cunningham's season, and question if we'd rather have signed Harrison Barnes in the off season instead of the trio of Etwan Moore, Langston Galloway, and Solomon Hill.  We crush on our mid-season pick-up Donatas Motiejunas, but unfortunately realize the only way we can re-sign him is to trade away Asik's contract along with our first round pick.

Friend of the pod, and Smoothie King Center food critic, Ivan Solomon (aka 'lil Homie). hijacks the remainder of the show with a rant on the degradation of the in-arena cuisine, and some advanced 'bang for your buck' metrics.  We wrap up this part of the episode with some raucous thoughts on in-game entertainment, music, and our divisive seasonal mascot, the King Cake Baby.
